Great weather, great music, great party... Shame about the fish! Its up to a mixed bunch of people to get things under control!
Run time: 1 hour 28 mins
Starring: Elisabeth Shue (Hollowman), Jerry O'Connell (Jerry Maguire), Ving Rhames (Dawn of the Dead), Eli Roth
Director: Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes)
Now I know I moan about bad special effects, and yes the originals were terrible for that, but this actually looks pretty good! I think it will go down well with the boys and my woman will see it as a bit of fun. Sounds ideal!
All the hype has made me pretty curious about this one
Twisted Man Thing:
Let's just hope the special effects are better than the original!
Twisted Teen:
I think technology has come a long way since the seventies dad.
Twisted Man Thing:
Let's hope so!
Twisted Kid:
Flesh eating fish are cool, but their were loads of women in bikinis in the trailer...
Twisted Teen:
Ahh don't worry, big bro will protect you
Twisted Kid:
Shut up!
Miss Twisted:
come on guys, pack it in else I'll throw you to the fishy's!
Twisted Teen:
Haha mum very funny...
Twisted Teen: that was so much fun! My cheeks ache from laughing and smiling so much!
Twisted Man Thing: It was good fun wasn't it son?! Liked the music too.
Miss Twisted: Ving Rhames was awesome! Such a badass!
Twisted Teen: And all of those chicks in bikinis dancing about!
Miss Twisted: ...and getting eaten.
Twisted Man Thing: Although much better than the originals the special effects were at hit and miss, but that kind of added to its fun factor.
Miss Twisted: Yeah I agree. This movie got away with a lot! Cheesy parts, cliches... But it pulled it off!
Twisted Teen: It wasn't cheesy it was cool
Twisted Man Thing: The whole movie was pretty much a meat feast wasnt it?
Miss Twisted: Why are you so quiet kid, didn't you like it?
Twisted Kid: Yeah the fish were cool, but all those women... It was embarrassing!
Twisted Teen: What more could you ask from a movie than boobies and gore?!
Twisted Man Thing: Hahaha! That's my boy!
Miss Twisted: Aww its a shame that all the half naked women made him uncomfortable because the rest of the film was perfect for him.
Twisted Man Thing: Maybe you'll prefer it in a couple of years mate...
Twisted Kid: I doubt it!
4/5 Yay! Let's keep it on the livingroom dvd unit!
Awesome movie! Perfect for teenagers. Wish girls looked like that where I live! The gore was cool too, never over the top, but pretty much always there. Its all done in a fun way too!
The piranha's were cool, but I don't like girls and they were always on the screen...
This one is a real toughie so I'd recommend parents watch it first. Unfortunately Twisted Kid is going through a 'tender' phase and he didn't like the overload of women in this one. However the fish attack scenes really entertained him. Poor thing practically 'yo yo'd' through the whole movie. He was embarrassed, but didn't want us to turn it off. Really does depend on the individual child.
There is one scene where you see two completely naked woman underwater, but its not seedy or vulgar at all. There is classical music playing during this part and they make it look pretty artsy, but it really depends on how you and your family view nudity.
For me it was the perfect movie, thoroughly enjoyed it! Didn't quite hit the spot with our youngest, but our teen was in his element!
