Feature of the month for September 2010
Do you remember being scared out of your mind when you first saw “The Amityville Horror” back in 1979 or maybe read the book that accompanied it?
Or maybe you saw it many years later one night late into the evening when it was replayed on TV?
Or could you be one of the many that first heard of the story when the film was remade in 2003?
Either way, however you first came to know the supernatural horror that is Amityville, to this day the story remains one of the most famous and talked about haunted houses in existence.
Whether the stories are true or not no body will ever know, but what we do know is that the paranormal activity was experienced by more than one person, and one of those people was a priest!
The horror we have been told occurred:
With the house already being a place of horror after a mass murder was committed there, the eldest son of the DeFeo family woke up one night and killed all six members of his family.
A year after the murders, the family that bought the house was plagued by supernatural horrors over a 28 day period.
Blood oozed from the doors and windows, ghostly images were constantly seen, detailed nightmares of the horrific murders that occurred in the house a year before were had, swarms of flies appeared from nowhere, visions of a supposedly demon like pig were common, a terrifying red room appeared inside the house and actual physical contact was received from a supernatural entity!
Whilst trying to bless the house a priest was apparently even ordered to get out by an unseen spirit!
Now I don’t know about anyone else but the Amityville film was quite a scary watch for me many years ago and it even touches that nerve to this day whilst having second helping viewings!
So what do you do when you have detailed memories of the horror that is Amityville and you find out that the house itself, not a movie set, the actual house where the terrifying paranormal activity occurred, has come up for sale!
The actual real Amityville house:
The house details:
The five bedroom house at 108 Ocean Avenue, Amityville (originally the address was 112 but changed due to so much tourist attraction) has recently come up for sale for a price of £800,000 ($1,15m).
Although the house has developed the reputation of being the terror home from hell, many families have actually bought and lived in the residence for many years since blood apparently oozed from the walls! It’s been renovated to a point that it is considered highly attractive throughout and it still has the attraction of overlooking a nice canal.
Sounds like a nice place to live now, but let me ask you this:
Even though families have lived in the house for many years with no paranormal horror’s occurring and the home has been renovated to a high standard and it overlooks a lovely canal……………Could you live there?
Could you walk up to your new house looking up at the windows, the same windows that the films so famously made to look like eyes peering down at you, the same structure that managed to cause so many people to feel fearful just from seeing it on the front cover of a book or film!
Although other families have been left alone by the supernatural evil………………….could you be the lucky one to be the next victim?????????
