A group of students investigate a series of unexplained bear killings, but learn that there are much more dangerous things going on.
They start to follow a mysterious hunter, learning that he is actually a troll hunter, who no longer agrees with keeping such a big government secret, so he invites the young film makers to follow and record him going about his job.

Wow the troll on the cover looks awesome!
Twisted Man Thing:
But its Norwegian... We aren't...
Twisted Teen:
We've been through this before dad
Miss Twisted:
*cough* Erm... Its also a mockumentary... *cough*
Twisted Man Thing:
Oh my days! Why on earth would you choose this for a family film night?
Miss Twisted:
Because I think the boys will appreciate it. I mean a mockumentary on huge trolls... Come on, admit it.. Even you are a little bit curious?!
Twisted Man Thing:
But its got subtitles.
Twisted Kid:
Then just look at the picture. I'm putting it on now.
Miss Twisted: I actually thought that was pretty good,
Twisted Teen: Yeah and me! Had loads going on
Miss Twisted: I know and usually with these mockumentary movies you tend to see very little of what you are supposed to be watching, but this showed the trolls really clearly out in the open.
Twisted Kid: The three headed one was cool but the one under the bridge scared me a bit
Twisted Teen: I saw you jump, but then you were laughing when that dude got thrown
Twisted Kid: Yeah it was funny in some parts!
Twisted Man Thing: Are none of you bothered about the shaky camera work?
Twisted Teen: No it wasn't used the whole time and to be honest I thought it was pretty steady compared to some of these hand held filming jobby's.
Twisted Man Thing: And the subtitles were so annoying!
Twisted Kid: Yeah I didn't catch a few things, but I still knew what was going on
Miss Twisted: I don't ever notice them anymore
Twisted Kid: I loved that bit when the troll blew off!
Miss Twisted: haha! Eww imagine how bad a trolls wind would smell?!
Twisted Teen: I think I would probably be sick!
Twisted Kid: I can believe its a true story!
Twisted Teen: hahaha! Its not! They are just pretending it is.
Twisted Kid: Well it could be true... You never know right?!
Miss Twisted chose this weeks movie:
I am hoping that my family may one day share my love of foreign horrors, so I thought I would 'break them in' a little with a film that would be right up their street... If it was in english...
THE TWISTED FAMILY VERDICT:
3/5 - We'll keep this one on the dvd unit upstairs and watch it every now and then.
Twisted Kid:
I thought this was pretty cool. I couldn't keep up with the subtitles when there were big conversations, but the rest of the time it was ok. The trolls looked really cool!
Yeah I liked it. Would definitely watch it again, it just takes a little more concentration than our usual films.
I just don't see the point in watching foreign movies. If I feel like reading then I'll look at a book, not a film. Its a shame because it looked like the kind of thing I would enjoy, but I just couldn't pay attention to what was going on whilst reading the subtitles.
The film itself is ideal for a family horror movie, the issue here is the subtitles. If your audience is willing to give them a go then I would certainly recommend this as a great starting point!
